Here's one from when I started HMTV 1986.  Anniston Star

I ended up being featured in the Anniston paper several times during my tenure in Anniston,

no not from breaking the law, but from community service, church events, concerts and the business.

No joke this is where I started my business in Anniston...

Further testimony to the increased demand for mobile sports broadcasting comes from Jacksonville, Florida's HMTV where Executive Director Carey Goin had focused largely on entertainment and corporate programming for almost 20 years. "We kept our hand in small regional sports," he points out, "but in the last two years there was such an explosion in sports programming that we had to turn down shoots. It got to the point where we'd have been foolish not to get into sports, so we bought our first 50-foot straight TV truck totally geared for sports."

The brand new truck is "booked solid" through mid-May and "we're talking football," Goin reports. "In one month we did 13 shoots."

Noting that "it takes a whole lot more gear" for sports than other types of programming, Goin has stocked the digital/analog hybrid truck with such staples as a 4-channel EVS, Chyron Telestrator, Omega Fast Forward for replays and Chyron Duet. Ikegami 377 cameras with SDI outputs are on board along with a GV 4000 digital switcher. In addition, lipstick cameras and frame syncs are required for close-up shots of tables and cards for ESPN billiards and USA Network poker coverage.

Among HMTV's first shoots with the new truck were PRCA rodeo championships in San Angelo and Austin, Texas; the National Cheerleading Competition in Orlando; equestrian events from Ocala, Florida for ESPN; cycling for OLN; pre-season baseball coverage from Florida; the NBA Knicks and NHL Rangers at Madison Square Garden and the NBA Celtics at Boston Garden for regional FOX sports networks; auto racing for Speed Channel; boxing for FOX Sports Net and Don King Productions; pro wrestling for WWE and TNA; and college football, basketball and baseball for Comcast Sports South.

"We thought there'd be a learning curve, but we jumped in with both feet," says Goin. The company's 40-foot truck still handles entertainment and corporate work.
